What are your hours?

Standard hours are Monday–Saturday, 8 AM–6 PM. Comfort Plan members also get an after-hours emergency line for no-heat and no-cool situations.

How fast can you come out?

Accepted Answer

Most weekday calls placed before 11 AM are scheduled the same day. No-heat calls in winter and no-cool calls in summer get priority.

Do you offer free estimates?

Accepted Answer

Yes. In-home estimates for new installations are free. Diagnostic visits for repairs carry a flat dispatch fee that is waived if you proceed with the repair.

Are you licensed and insured in New York?

Accepted Answer

Yes — fully licensed in New York City and Nassau County, and carrying full general liability and workers' comp coverage. We can provide a Certificate of Insurance on request for buildings that need one.

Should I repair or replace my AC?

Accepted Answer

We use the 5,000 rule: multiply your unit's age by the repair quote. If the result is over 5,000, replacement usually wins on long-term cost. Below that, repairing is typically the better call. We tell you straight either way — we don't sell systems you don't need.

How much does central AC installation cost in NY?

Most full installs in Queens, Brooklyn, and Nassau County run $7,500–$14,500 depending on tonnage, ductwork condition, and SEER rating. We give you a written, itemized quote — no surprise add-ons.

What size AC do I need?

Accepted Answer

It depends on square footage, ceiling height, insulation, window orientation, and infiltration. Anyone who quotes a size from a phone call alone is guessing. We perform a Manual-J load calculation on every install.

Is a smart thermostat worth it?

Accepted Answer

If you have a Wi-Fi network and a programmable schedule, almost always yes. Most homeowners see 8–15% reductions in heating and cooling costs. We install Nest, ecobee, and Honeywell, and we set them up properly — including the C-wire if your system needs one.

Are heat pumps a good choice for New York winters?

Yes — modern cold-climate heat pumps maintain rated capacity down to about 5°F. For the coldest weeks, we typically recommend a hybrid setup with a backup gas furnace or electric strip.

My heat is out — what should I do?

Call (929) 488-3017. No-heat calls get priority dispatch in winter — typically a 2–4 hour window. While you wait: confirm the thermostat is set to heat, change the batteries if it's wireless, and check the breaker and emergency switch (often a red switch near the boiler/furnace).

How often should I service my furnace or boiler?

Once a year, every year. Manufacturer warranties almost universally require it, and most no-heat calls we get in January trace back to a missed tune-up.

Are mini-splits a good fit for NYC apartments and brownstones?

Often yes — that's a big part of what we do. Ductless is ideal for pre-war buildings, brownstones, condos, and any home where adding ductwork would be invasive. We coordinate with co-op and condo boards as needed (alteration agreements, COIs, freight scheduling).

Single-zone systems run $4,500–$6,500 installed. Multi-zone systems for whole-home coverage are typically $14,000–$28,000.

If you have central HVAC, yes. Our Comfort Plan covers two tune-ups per year, priority scheduling in peak season, after-hours emergency coverage, and 15% off any repairs — starting at $19/month.

What's included in a tune-up?

A full multi-point inspection, refrigerant level check (cooling visits), combustion analysis (heating visits), filter replacement, electrical and capacitor testing, drain line clearing, and a written report.

Most of our partners offer a soft credit pull to check rates and pre-qualification — that has no impact on your score. A formal application after you've chosen a plan is a hard pull. We tell you which is which before you submit anything.

Do you work in NYC co-ops and condos?

Routinely. We handle alteration agreements, board approvals, COIs, freight elevator scheduling, and quiet-window installs. Send us your building's requirements before we visit and we'll have the paperwork ready.
